Gilberto “Beto” Garcia Jr. is a trained physician, with deep roots in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. A fourth-generation Texan, he has intimate and extensive knowledge of the Texas/Mexico border and knows all too well the opportunities and challenges faced by the people of the region..
“Beto, a trained physician, has deep roots in the valley. As a fourth-generation resident, he knows all too well the opportunities and challenges faced by the people of the region.
For the last fifteen years, he has owned and operated home health and chronic care companies, and more recently expanded into Accountable Care Organizations and primary care clinics. He credits his success to three things: relationships doing the right thing and running towards opportunities when they present themselves.”
Business and Legislative Achievements:
Pioneer in the home health and remote patient monitoring sectors in the region. He pushed for changes in local healthcare legislation that better accounted for the challenges and barriers, providers and caretakers faced in delivering quality care to patients.
Specifically, he was instrumental in defining the tele-monitoring legislative programs and subsequent reimbursements to healthcare providers in Texas. He is also one of the earliest adopters of tele-monitoring services for the chronically ill in the region.
Beto has spent the last 16 years as the proud owner and operator of one of the most respected home health agencies in the Valley.
Additionally, he has successfully positioned a tele-monitoring and chronic care management company he operates and founded some 12 years ago for considerable growth and expansion.
Most recently, Beto has set his entrepreneurial sights, business acumen, and considerable healthcare policy knowledge on Accountable Care Organizations and primary care clinics. As of 2018, he successfully ushered almost a dozen local physician practices into a thriving ACO where they are already reaping the benefits of shared savings for enhanced patient care.
Today, he is working with independent primary care practices across the region to facilitate their conversion to value-based care and to help practice owners secure maximum value for their life’s work.
